Murf Gray Receives Promotion to Greensboro

According to MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo, the Pittsburgh Pirates are promoting third base prospect Murf Gray to High A Greensboro.
As a second round draft choice last year out of Fresno State, Gray signed with the Pirates for just under a million, at $997,500.
To begin his professional career this season, the Pirates sent Gray to Low A Bradenton, where his offensive production was outstanding. In April, Gray put up a batting line of .353/.434/.553. He’s been just as prolific in May; slashing .368/.439/.684.
While with the Marauders, Gray posted a 174 wRC+, and his eight home runs were tied for second most in the Florida State League.
Gray is currently the 17th ranked Pirates prospect by MLB Pipeline.
