Pirates Promote Khristian Curtis to Altoona

The Pittsburgh Pirates are promoting pitcher Khristian Curtis to the Altoona Curve, this according to Chase Ford of MiLB Central.
Curtis was a 12th round draft choice of the Bucs in the 2023 MLB Draft out of Arizona State.
The 23-year-old right-hander had been assigned to the High A Greensboro Grasshoppers to begin 2025.
Curtis struggled immensely during the first half of the season, with a 5.51 ERA in 13 starts.
On July 4th, Curtis had his best start of the year; tossing six perfect innings, while striking out 10 batters. Since that outing, he’s posted an ERA of 2.71. Overall, Curtis has recorded 116 strikeouts in 108.2 innings (9.6 K/9).
Greensboro began their playoff series on Tuesday, with Curtis pitching six innings of two-run ball in a losing effort against Brooklyn Cyclones.
Altoona will begin their playoff series next Tuesday versus the Erie Seawolves. It’s likely that Curtis could make his Curve debut in Game 1.
